I'm behind

I'm behind in blogging and that's the least of my worries. Laundry piles have set up shop in the living room and the mess from dinner still needs to be cleaned up. (It's almost 10pm!)
Truth is, we've been busy around here lately. Mike's been off of work which means I put off my housework until I can't avoid it any longer. We've been having a blast and I can't wait to get caught up on all my posts. This week should be filled with them, and I just had to post this to hold myself to it.
I've been working on a blog to print book which has been taking up way more time than I ever imagined. One day the kids will appreciate it, I hope. Micah's baby book is in my pile to be worked on too. He's one! Seems so crazy to me, but we're enjoying having a one year old and a two year old for a month.
We were crazy busy with the kids party and then we were crazy exhausted. We're catching up now, so lots of pictures this week. My written blog word is my promise!

The rivalry has begun

My two little ones have begun to fight. Sometimes it's hard to keep a straight face, and actually I love those moments. My patience is in check and my mind is mellow, and I'm taking a step back and seeing the big picture. Sibling rivalry. I think anyone who has a sibling deals with it at some point. In the end, I do believe it's a blessing. What better way to learn to share (constantly), have patience, and use kind words.
Micah is only days away from being one. Hard to believe, but he understands so much already, and yet has so many baby characteristics still. Just today when I was changing him his legs were in the air and then he'd curl them up. I felt like I was having flashbacks to what seems like only weeks ago but has been months and months past.
Eden is charming to say the least. Sometimes I sit back and relish our conversations and think what a cool little person she is. I know I'm biased, but she is unique on such personal and intriguing level. It seems that there isn't a day that goes by where Mike and I aren't talking about all the ideas that she's expressed during some point of the day.
These two are destined to be best buds, but for now... well, we'll just see how they work together. Our funny story of the week: Eden knows that she is not to hit, kick, push, or any of the like to Micah. Micah seems aware of this too. A couple of nights ago, they were both standing at the refrigerator and Eden was pushing Micah with her body. In her mind that wasn't wrong.
Micah wasn't thrilled with this. He can say the word "no" plain as day and those were his choice words. Eden laughed and laid on the ground near the kitchen. Micah crawled to her with his little scowl on his face and hit her on the stomach. She laughed hysterically.
Micah wasn't thrilled with her response and grabbed the closest toy to him and chucked it right at her. All of us couldn't help but laugh.

Praying

It's a really small matter in the scheme of things, but I'm praying faithfully for our condo to sell. I don't have much hope that it will, but God is good and knows what's best for our family.

We've always said that we want to encourage our children in the things that they're interested in, and we definitely try our hardest.

Their favorite thing is being outside, and I don't blame them. It's beautiful.

Right now, they don't know the difference of where we live. They're happy kids and anyone can tell that.

But we're in the process as a family of making some big decisions.

Decisions that as of right now God hasn't answered yes or no, but he hasn't closed any door either.

This life is a beautiful thing, no matter where we live.

I'll put it on my wish list

Some day!

In case you didn't know

there is trix cereal everywhere in our condo

our toilet paper is always in a heap below where it should be on a roll

Eden's favorite song right now is "ten little ducks"

I miss Mike when he's at work

when I can't get Micah down for a nap, I've put him in his bed, crouched down next to it and threw a blanket over myself. it worked, and he went to sleep

I've lost track of how many days it's been since I washed my hair

Haagen Daas flavor bananas foster is my all time favorite

we got a call for a showing this past weekend, I cleaned for two and a half hours and then they cancelled

we looked at a house, eh, not crazy

Micah eats about double what Eden does at meals

Eden finally decided on a crab cake for her birthday

I think I have a trix cereal piece on the bottom of my foot as I write

I love...

...these chubby feet and ankles or canckles.
I love how Micah stands with his little toes curled under.

I love how soft his feet are and his little ankle rolls.

I love these squishy, chubby thighs.

And of course I love the thigh rolls.

Silly, but probably in a few short months, he won't curl his toes under, his cankles will be ankles, and the thigh rolls will be gone. Just a few of the things I love about a baby who is soon to be a toddler.
