Their little slice of heaven

A few weeks ago,  a friend sent us some passes to the children's museum in Milwaukee. It was such a treat as I haven't been there ever with Micah and only once with Eden nearly two years ago. At that time she was so small for so many of the exhibits, but this time it was so perfect.
She stayed in the little mechanic area for quite a while,

and it was so adorable to watch.

And that's when I decided that we have some similar interests, my little car mechanic.

The little Sendik's grocery store was her favorite

and she had some serious talks with Daddy about his phone battery dying.

I love the face that Eden is making when she's creating.

Micah had a lot of fun too. Right after this picture, he almost flipped the rocking horse. Boys!

I know the kids both had fun, running everywhere and touching everything their little hands desired. I think they thought they were in heaven. But I think the highlight of my day was having Mike with us. He walked over from work and we got to spend some one on one time with each of the kids. I'd rather have it been one on one time with each other, but soon, soon.

These are a few of his favorite things

Just a few of his favorite things:
crawling with shoes on his hands

his little lamb (it's so cute)

his bat... think Bambam

apples

eating with a spoon, and he really does amazing

eating in general

doors and doorknobs

Eden, of course

There are several others, boobies, which I won't post a picture of,
standing on the toilet flapping his arms,
climbing anything and everything,
barrel rolling off of high surfaces,
his little radio flyer push cart,
his Aiden & Anais blankie,
not sleeping,
splashing in the toilet,
getting up at 4 a.m.,
giving kisses and making a "maaa" sound,
wearing shoes,
signing,
hugging my leg,
ahhhh, he's a well rounded child.

What I do for fun

I've been playing with self-timer shots lately. I find it so fun and I love the anticipation of seeing what the picture will turn out like. Simple, I know.
I took a whole bunch of them at the park a few days earlier than these, but I think these are my favorites. What do you think?

I think they're cute!

Priceless to me

I posted a really long post on Thursday and just checked my blog right now to see it not there. Whoops. I'm kinda glad. It was a bit of a rant and I used to have a self-imposed rule of not writing when upset. I don't think I was upset, but a bad attitude was definitely displayed.
Mike's been working a lot lately and I've been repeating a mantra to myself: the joy of the Lord is my strength. It's been a tough week with the kids, but I feel like my patience has increased by leaps and bounds. Seriously, I love that, and I hope it sticks.

I took these photos last weekend. Could it get any sweeter? Mike is such an incredible dad. He has a servants heart like you wouldn't believe. And talk about selfless, I'm just blown away.
I love tender, little moments and wish they could be acknowledged every time they happen.
They're priceless to me.

My ABC's

My ABC's
Age: 28
Bed size: Full, isn't that crazy considering Mike is 6'5.
Chore you hate: Putting away laundry. It's terrible. I've been considering a family closet for months.
Dogs: None. If we do ever get one, it'll be huge. I love big dogs, a great dane or a mastiff. The bigger the better.
Essential start of your day: Coffee. I've got a one track mind until I've gotten it.
Favorite color: Brown, but I'm starting to think ...yellow?
Gold or silver: Silver. I've just over the recent past added a few gold things that I love though.

Height: 5'4" That may be stretching it.
Instruments I play (or have played): I know how to read notes for piano. But played or play, ummmm, that would be a white lie stretch.
Job title: Wife, mommy, full-time care giver to two little needy people and one big needy person.
Kids: Two, love 'em like crazy.
Live: Hartland, WI. In 28 days though, that's about to change, Delafield baby, tah-tah Hartland.
Mom's name: Denise
Nickname: Well, I am like a Sybil in this regard. From Mike it's Little One, Boops, or Sweetie. From Eden it's Mommy and from Micah is Mah.
Overnight hospital stays: Just the typical with the kiddos births.
Pet peeve: I have a lot. Mike and I play a pet peeve game actually. Probably a safe one to say it tone, voice tone, it's just gotta be nice or I go through the roof.
Quote from a movie: I really don't have many. I'm not a movie liner type of girl. One that I always quote isn't even from a movie, but a TV show, Curb your Enthusiasm. When Larry David says "pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, ______" You fill in the blank. I know, I know, like I said I'm not a movie liner type.
Right or left handed: Right! The word alone tells you what's all good.
Siblings: Four. Two brothers and one sister, and yes, I'm the youngest.
Time you wake up: It pains me to even write this, 4:45 a.m. ish. It's so painful. Thankfully, I have a crazy wonderful husband who often gets up at six so I can go back to bed for an hour and not feel like the day is over at 8 a.m.
Underwear: What? What in the world am I supposed to write for this. Crazy. People share too much, I'm not that person people.
Vegetables you dislike: Cooked carrots. Eckkk, those are nasty, but I do eat them when I need to be polite.
What makes you run late: Ummm, I'm a mom. The kids of course.
X-rays you've had done: Teeth, wrist, ankle.
Yummy food you make: Ha! You should ask Mike. I think I make good desserts, but as far as food, I'm a failure. Sandwiches, maybe.
Zoo animal: I'm kinda biased. Eden has grown my love for tapirs, but I blame her for my wanting to be different and liking a different animal. I'd have to say the ostrich because it's always mad at the zebra and is making a scene whenever we're at the zoo.

My weekend agenda

Life's been busy lately. We're moving! Can hardly believe that one myself, but my free time is usually taken over by trying to pack a box. It usually doesn't happen because as soon as I tape it open, the kids climb in it and take over or make it into a slide... whatever they do, I usually don't get a thing gone.
Hopefully with Mike home this weekend, I can get some things done: patching holes, touching-up paint, organizing, cleaning out, trips to Goodwill, you name it.
Yesterday though, we took it easy. Eden is sick and I worked pretty hard at getting Micah to sleep (in my arms) to keep his resistance up. I pulled out the camera when Eden was down for a nap and attempted some self timer shots. They didn't turn out too hot, but it was fun.
I was going to do a post on some of my favorite things, but it'll have to wait. For now, here's two of my favorite things. Make that three: Micah, his belly, and my boots.
